I had a totally unexpected workout yesterday. So unexpected I was wearing jeans and a nice shirt.
I took my girls to one of those bounce house birthday parties excited to just drop them off and go or atleast sit and talk to some parents while the kids all played together. What I found out is that being a parent is no fun.
Sure I love some good adult time to chat about things that are going on and the funny things our kids are doing but is it out of this world fun? NO! This wearhouse had FOUR huge bounce houses, a ping pong table, and a air hockey table. The kids were having all the fun so I slowly slipped off my shoes while engaged in some small talk about how this other mom new the birthday family and politely said “I better help my two year old up that huge slide”.
Two hours later I was hot and sweaty from spending the entire birthday party jumping, running, climbing, and sliding. It was a blast and of course I got an excellent workout in. Not to mention the lasting memories I created with my kids.
So the next time you’re faced with small talk or jumping, swinging, climbing, and sliding with your kids opt for the more “fun” route.
What will you do this weekend to get some fitness in with your kids?

Really Cool! I love when that sort of thing happens! It’s always the best!
There’s a bounce house place like that here in Tucson (Pump-It-Up) and it’s so fun! We all get great exercise and it’s a nice “escape” from the sweltering heat in the summertime.
